Valmiita tekeleitä! / Finished objects!

Pitkästä aikaa ehdin blogata valmistuneita tekeleitä. En ole edes saanut aikaiseksi kuvata kaikkia, joten tässä on vain osa viimeisen kuukauden sadosta.

After a long silence, I finally have a bit of time to blog some of my recent finished objects. I still don't have pictues of all of them, so here are only some of them.

Innostuin neulomaan Norjalaisia vauvanhattuja, niitä on valmistunut kaikkiaan kolme. Kaksi on punaisia Novitan Bambusta. Ensimmäinen oman tyttösen päähän, ja toinen kaverin kaksivuotiaalle. Kuva löytyy vain ensinmainitusta.

I got hooked with the Norwegian Sweet Baby Cap pattern, and so far I have knitted three of these. Two of them are identical in all but size. I made them of Novita Bambu in red. The one in the picture is for my own little girl and the other was made for my friend's two year old.

Kolmas Novitan Wool Sävy -langasta. Langan karheus ei näyttänyt haittaavan mallia:

The third one is made of Novita Wool Sävy in heathered pink. The slight scratchiness of the yarn did not seem to bother the model:

Aikoja sitten valmistuneesta Shetland Trianglesta on nyt myös kuva. Tosin ei kovin kaksinen sellainen, olin virittelemässä pingotukseen, ja tulos ei vielä tässä vaiheessa ollut kovin symmetrinen. Unohdin ottaa kuvan, kun olin saanut huivin viriteltyä nätimmin.

This Shetland Triangle was finished already ages ago (knitting wise), but I took the time to block it only recently. The picture isn't so nice as it is from the early stages of blocking when the shawl wasn't yet symmetrically aligned. I forgot to take pics of it when it was nicely arranged.

Kokeilin Novitan uutta Puro-lankaa hiljattain, ja tässä lopputulos. Pipo omaan päähän, tulevia kylmempiä kelejä ajatellen. Malli on myöskin omasta päästä. :D

I test knitted the new Puro yarn from Novita, and here is what came off my needles. The hat is for myself for the coming colder season. The pattern was improvised.


Syksy tuo tullessaan useita vaihtoja, joista olen osallistumassa ainakin SNY-kierrokselle, sekä Ravelryn neulojan syysloma-vaihtoon. Olen jo saanut parini tiedot kummastakin vaihdosta, ja suunnittelu on käynnissä parieni ilahduttamiseksi. :o)

This autumn I will participate in at least two swaps. The Finnish secret pal and the Finnish Ravelry users "knitter's autumn holiday" swap. I have already received the information of my secret pals for both swaps and I'm in the middle of planning nice surprises for them.

Jaywalkerit

Tällä kerralla on jotain valmistakin, vaikka kehruuharjoitukset hiukan hidastavat neulomista. Nämä Jaywalkerit aika kauan varastossa marinoituneesta Ilun sukkalangasta valmistuivat viime viikolla. Varsista tuli vähän turhan löysät, täytyy tehdä seuraavat pienemmillä puikoilla tai jättää vähän silmukoita pois.

This time I have completed something. These Jaywalkers were finished last week. I made them from a skein of Ilu's sock yarn that had been standing in my stash for quite a while. The leg part is a bit loose, I should try to use smaller needles or leave out some stitches the next time.

Kehruuharjoitukset ovat toistaiseksi keskittyneet ilta-aikaan. Toistaiseksi syntynyt lanka on ohutta ja ylikierteistä, mutta ehkäpä se tästä paranee. Ehkä olisi hyödyllistä käydä joku kurssi, mutta sellaista odotellessa täytyy tyytyä Amazonin ja You Tuben antimiin. Kirjoista ja videoistakin oppii kaikenlaista.

So far I have been practicing my spinning at night time. So far the singles I have made are thin and dreadfully over twisted, but I suppose it will get better as I get more practice. Maybe it would be good to take a spinning course, but while I'm trying to attend one I'll have to make do with what I can get from Amazon and You Tube. Books and videos can be very helpful too.

Uusi asukas

Viime viikolla meille muutti uusi asukas, rukki nimittäin. Tähän päivään asti se ressukka asui paloina pahvilaatikossaan, mutta tänään minulla oli vihdoin aikaa kasata se. Siihen menikin koko päivän vapaahetket, vaikka esikoinen olikin mummulassa, mutta valmista tuli!

We got a new family member last week. My new spinning wheel! Until today she lived in her box in various pieces, but today I finally got the chance to put her together. It took all the free moments I had today, even though our first born was at his grandparents.. But I managed to finish it in the end!

Lasten mentyä nukkumaan oli tietysti pakko päästä kokeilemaan kehräämistäkin, ja ihan mukavasti se tuntui sujuvan. Valmis lankakin on kohtuullisen tasalaatuista, vaikka tämä oli ihan ensimmäinen kerta rukin ääressä ikinä. Värttinällä olen harjoitellut muutaman kerran aikaisemmin. Jospa huomenna uskaltautuisin treenaamaan ekojen värjättyjen villojen kanssa.

After the kids went to bed I had to test spin a little. It seemed to go quite well. I managed to create relatively even yarn, if you consider that it was my first time spinning on a wheel, ever. I have practised on a spindle a couple of times before. Maybe tomorrow I will dare to start with the dyed roving.

Jotain valmista

Tikuttelin "välipalana" parin sukkia, kun halusin testata Needle Foodin lankaa, jota olen estottomasti hamstrannut lukuisia vyyhtejä. Lanka oli miellyttävää neuloa, ja lopputuloskin miellyttää.  Mallina Dead Simple Lace Socks, ja käytetty lanka Needle Food Merino Blend "Kitchen's on fire"-värisenä.

I finished a pair of socks because I wanted to try the Needle Food yarn I have stashed numerous skeins before knitting anything out of it. I really liked the feel of the yarn when knitting and the end result is pleasing, too. The model is called "Dead Simple Lace Socks" and the yarn is the Needle Food Merino Blend in "Kitchen's on fire".

Eilen valmistui myös ensimmäinen pitsihuiviprojektini, Shetland Triangle. Se tosin odottelee vielä pingottumaan pääsemistä, mutta tykötarpeet alkaa olla jo hankittuna. (Lasten vaahtomuovipalapelejä Lidlistä ja verhovaijeria Honkkarista, sekä kasa nuppineuloja) Jos juhannuksen jälkeen laittaisin huivin kylpyyn ja pingottumaan.

Yesterday I also managed to finish my first lace shawl, the Shetland Triangle. However, it is still waiting to be blocked. I did manage to gather the required supplies for blocking, though. I got some foam puzzles from Lidl and some coated wire from Hong Kong (the shop, not the country) plus a bunch of pins. I'll try to block the shawl next week.

Tällä hetkellä työn alla on yhdet sukat ja yksi pusero, mutta niistä lisää kunhan valmistuvat.

At the moment I am working on a pair of socks and a sweater, but I will tell you more after they are finished.

Vaihtopaketti!

Eilen se sitten kotiutui. Ravelryvaihtopaketti. Aivan ihana! Paketin avattuani se näytti tältä:

Yesterday I got the package from my Ravelry swap pal. It is lovely! It looked like this when I lifted the lid:

Päällimmäisenä näkyvä kangasjuttu osoittautui mekoksi (!!!), vaikka ensivilkaisulla arvelin sen olevan kassi. Mekko on ihana, ja tulee varmasti käyttöön. Erityisesti minua hämmästyttää se, miten parini on osannut tehdä noin hyvin minulle istuvan vaatteen, kun kaupasta niitä ei tahdo löytää.

The fabric thing on top turned out to be a short dress (!!!), even though at first sight I thought it might be a bag. It is really lovely, and I am sure I will use it. I am particularly amazed by the fact hat my pal managed to make a dress that fits me, because I find it difficult to find clothes that fit well from the shops.

Nostettuani mekon pois, paljastui sen alta paketin muu sisältö: Vyyhti Merino Oroa, kaksi kerää vaaleanvihreää Red Heartin Eco-puuvillaa, kaksi kerää lilaa maissilankaa, sekä yksi kerä lilaa vauvalankaa. Mukana oli myös levy suklaata ja pari pastillirasiaa, teemaväreissä tietenkin. (Tuo Lontoorae-suklaa on muuten suosikkini! Mistähän parini tämänkin tiesi?).

Underneath the dress the rest of the package content was revealed: one skein of Merino Oro, two balls of Red Hearts Eco-Cotton , two balls of lilac corn fiber yarn and one ball of Baby merino. There was also some chocolate and some other candy. (The chocolate is my favourite kind! I wonder how my pal knew that, too?)

Suklaan alta paljastui vielä kirjesetti, pari kynää ja muovikukkanen.

Below the chocolate were still a letter set and two pencils along with a plastic flower.

Olen tosi ilahtunut paketista, aivan mahtava vaihto! Iso kiitos!

Stalkkeripostia

Tämä kotiutui jo muutama päivä sitten, mutta en ole aikaisemmin ehtinyt ottaa kuvia.. Ravelryvaihtoparini oli lähettänyt minulle paketin itsetehdyn osuuden etukäteislähetyksenä (tai näin oletan), sain hienon käsintehdyn kortin, sekä kaikesta päätellen itse tehdyn kaulakorun, joka oli taidokkaasti pakattu kortin sisälle.

I got this already a few days back, but I didn't get the chance to take pictures earlier. My Ravelry swap pal had sent me the (apparently) "self made" part of the package beforehand. I got a nice hand made card and a necklace, which I presume to be self made as well.

Tämän päivän posti toi tullessaan lisää lankaa. (Kuinka yllättävää?) Viime viikkoisen Markkalankamyynnin hamstraukset, sekä paketin Titityyn verkkopuodista, Natural Dye Studion Cloudia ja Angelia sekä pari kartiota Xie:tä. Markkalangat päätynevät sukiksi ja lopuista tulee huiveja, ehkä.

Today's mail brought me some more yarn. (Aren't you surprised?) I got the yarn I managed to grab from last week's "Markkalanka sale", and a package from the Titityy online shop: Cloud and Angel by the Natural Dye Studio plus two cones of Xie. I will probably make socks out of the Markkalanka and the rest will become scarves or shawls, maybe.

Muuten olen kasaillut pakettia omaa vaihtopariani varten, ja se alkaa olla jo ihan hyvällä mallilla. Langat ja itsetehty osio ovat valmiina, joskin saatan vielä tehdä viimehetken muutoksia.. Kesäistä ylläriä pohdin vielä, ajatuksia on jo.

I have been collecting stuff for the package to my swap pal and it is coming along nicely. I already have the yarn and the self made part, although it is possible that I will still make some changes. The "summery surprise" is still being developed, but I do have ideas.

Valmista tuli!

Tässä se nyt on, Ikuisuusprojekti. Ihan valmiina. Kuva ei ole kaksinen, mutta pakko oli saada heti kuvattua, etten vaan unohda. Paita siis Colinetten Banyan-kirjasesta Carica sweater. Tein hihoista kokopitkät, ja lisäsin helmaankin pituutta. Olisi ehkä pitänyt lisätä vielä enemmän, mutta menee tuo näinkin.

Here it is, finally. My neverending project. All finished. The picture isn't that good, but I had to take a pic right away, lest I forget. The sweater is from the Banyan booklet by Colinette, the Carica sweater. I made the sleeves full length and added some length to the hem also. Maybe I should have made the hem even longer, but it will have to do as it is.

Vaarin sukat päätyivät vaarille ennen, kuin sain ne kuvattua. 

The socks for my FIL ended up with him before I managed to take pics.

Taloon on myös kotiutunut aimo kasa uusia lankoja, joista ei nyt ole kuvia. Tänään kolahti Colinettelta kolme vyyhtiä Jitterbugia, sekä Jitterbug creative pack. Syyhyttäisi päästä niihin käsiksi, mutta keskeneräisiä projekteja on nyt kaksi, ja koitan hillitä itseäni. Työn alla on elämäni ensimmäinen pitsihuivi ja sen lisäksi sukkaprojekti Ravelryvaihtoparilleni.

A whole lot of new yarn has found their way into our house in the mean while, but I don't have pictures of them at the moment. Today I got three skeins of Jitterbug from Colinette as well as the Jitterbug creative pack. I'm itchin to dive into them, but I try to restrain myself. I already have two projects under way, and I try to finish those first. One of them is my first lace shawl and the other is a pair of socks for my Ravelry swap pal.
